This was my longest hike and my longest solo hike. As I was a little nervous, I was also incredible excited the check this one off my list. The gates to the park were closed so I ended up hiking a total of 12.3 miles, the elevation gain was mild to unnoticeable. My biggest concern was crossing the river as there is no longer a bridge.
There is a log conveniently placed with a smaller tree that is used for a hand rail of sorts, it made crossing VERY easy and the river was not high. As seen in the video crossing was no issue what so ever, but please be aware and be careful when crossing if the river is high it flows very fast and conditions can change quickly.
After crossing the river you get amazing views of Mt. Hood. The rest of the hike you can hear the river, catch glimpses of Mt. Hood, and see the river valley. When you start getting closer to the waterfall you begin to gain a bit of elevation but it is gradual and easy going.
Once at the falls your breath will be taken, the falls are majestic and down right amazing.

This hike took me 4 hours and 20 minuted from the park gate and back.
